چکیده

Intelligent autonomous agents (IAA) are proliferating and rapidly evolving due to the exponential growth in computational power recent advances, for instance, artificial intelligence research. Ranging from chatbots, over personal virtual assistants medical decision-aiding systems, self-driving or self-piloting whether unbeknownst users not, IAA increasingly integrated into many aspects of daily life. Despite this technological development, people remain skeptical such agents. Conversely, others might have excessive confidence them. Therefore, establishing an appropriate level trust is crucial successful deployment everyday contexts. Virtual Reality (VR) another domain where play a significant role, yet its experiential immersive character particularly allows new ways interaction tackling trust-related issues. In article, we provide overview numerous factors involved between IAA, spanning scientific disciplines as diverse psychology, philosophy, sociology, computer science, economics. Focusing on VR, discuss different types definitions identify foundational classified three interrelated dimensions: Human-Technology, Human-System, Interpersonal. Based taxonomy, open issues research agenda towards facilitating study trustful collaboration VR settings. • Research agent spans disciplines. A dedicated model captures intelligent Reality. has Interpersonal dimension. set guidelines help ensure comparability

Management of recreational areas: GIS, autonomous agents, and virtual reality

Management of recreational activity in areas that are culturally or ecologically sensitive requires knowledge, and effective management, of recreationists' behaviour. In this paper we explore the role of spatial information systems, spatial modelling, and virtual reality in the analysis and prediction of visitor location and movement patterns. The quantitative modelling of the time spent by vis...

Animating Autonomous Virtual Humans in Virtual Reality

In this paper, we explain the role of autonomous virtual humans in Virtual Reality. We discuss the importance of communication between virtual humans and real ones and the concept of presence. We present a research prototype system for animating autonomous virtual humans in Virtual Reality. We then explore the impact of this new technology in various disciplines. In particular, we emphasize med...

Autonomous artificial intelligent agents

This paper reviews the current state of the art in the research concerning the development of autonomous artificial intelligent agents. First, the meaning of specific terms, like agency, automaticity, autonomy, embodiment, situatedness, and intelligence, are discussed in the context of this domain. The motivations for conducting research in this area are then exposed. We focus, in particular, o...

Intelligent virtual environments for virtual reality art

The development of Virtual Reality Art installations is faced with considerable difficulties, especially when one wishes to explore complex notions related to user interaction. We describe the development of a VR platform, which supports the development of such installations, from an Art+Science perspective. The system is based on a CAVETM-like immersive display using a game engine to support v...

On Virtual and Mixed Reality Intelligent Environments

This special issue addresses core topics on Virtual and Mixed Reality Intelligent Environments. The conventional definitions for virtual and mixed reality systems, e.g., in [1-3], do not require that such environments should be intelligent or even reactive. However, most useful applications of virtual reality can be considered intelligent in the sense that the environment changes and reacts to ...
